Finding your next salon home is about more than finding an open chair. You want to understand the compensation, the environment, and the person who will support you as you grow.
August Pearl Salon is welcoming hairstylists to our intimate commission salon in Hermitage, Tennessee, just outside Nashville. Whether you have loyal clients ready to follow you or you’re still building your following, we’d love to learn about your work and what you want from your next chapter.
A Commission Salon With Clear Compensation
When you’re comparing hairstylist jobs in the Nashville area, the details matter. A commission percentage is only part of the picture—you also need to know what’s included and whether fees come out of your services.
At August Pearl Salon, we offer:
Service commission starting at 45% for Essential stylists.
100% of your gratuities.
20% retail commission.
Zero service or product fees.
We supply the everyday essentials, including towels, capes, color, lightener, foil, and backbar styling products.
That gives you a clear starting point for a conversation about your experience, your goals, and how the opportunity could fit your career.
A Path to Grow Your Commission and Career
Your goals should reflect the career you want to build.
At APS, advancement is based on goals tailored to each stylist. When you consistently meet those goals for three consecutive months, you earn a higher commission percentage, a new stylist title, and an increase in your service pricing.
You can learn about the expectations and growth structure during a confidential conversation with the owner.
An Owner Who Takes Your Growth Personally
August Pearl Salon was founded in 2015 by owner and stylist Jodi Bryson.
Jodi works behind the chair and takes a hands-on role in supporting the salon—from handling deep cleaning to regularly marketing the business through social media, Google updates, and Google Ads.
Helping stylists attract and retain guests is part of her role as an owner. While no salon can guarantee a full appointment book, supporting your visibility and growth is an ongoing priority at APS.
An Intimate Salon Environment in Hermitage, Tennessee
The setting you work in shapes your day and your guests’ experience.
APS offers an intimate salon environment where personal connection, thoughtful service, and respect for the shared space matter. We welcome stylists who care about their craft, communicate clearly, and want to contribute to a supportive team.
Your individuality belongs here, too. Your personality, specialties, and relationships with your guests are valuable parts of what you bring to the salon.
If you’re exploring salon opportunities in Hermitage or considering a move within the greater Nashville area, we invite you to get to know us.
Do You Need an Established Clientele to Apply?
An established or growing clientele is a plus, but a full book isn’t required to start a conversation.
We’re also interested in talented stylists who take pride in their work and are ready to grow. We want to understand your experience, see your artistry, and hear what you’re looking for in a salon home.
You don’t need a perfectly polished résumé to introduce yourself. A little about your background and a link to your portfolio or professional social media are a helpful place to start.
What About Scheduling?
Scheduling is discussed together, taking your availability, your clients’ needs, and salon coverage into account.
Expectations—including Saturdays—will be discussed before you make a decision. The goal is to give you the information you need to decide whether APS fits your next chapter.
Start a Confidential Conversation
Exploring a new salon doesn’t have to begin with a commitment to leave your current one.
You can start with questions about compensation, scheduling, the environment, or how your experience might fit at APS.
